Petersfield RFC is proud to announce that four of its talented U17 players—Eddie Jordan, Charlie Tomlin, Chase Thomas, and James Tyler—have been selected for the Hampshire development squad. This recognition is a testament to their hard work, talent, and commitment to the game.
Being recognised as some of the best in the county in their positions, these players are taking the next step in their rugby journey as they test their trade at the county level. Petersfield RFC is immensely proud of these lads and is confident they will make a strong impression.
Eddie Jordan, a towering second-row, has been a standout throughout the season. Known for his physicality and presence on the pitch, Eddie secured a memorable try against Winchester earlier in the season. His quality has been recognised in the past, as he was nominated for the 23/24 Try of the Season competition for a stunning effort, also against Winchester.
Charlie Tomlin, a gifted forward, has shown immense growth this season. His determination and rugby intelligence have been key assets for the team. Unfortunately, Charlie suffered an injury against Winchester, which has kept him sidelined in recent weeks. However, he is on the road to recovery and is expected to make a strong return soon.
Chase Thomas took a bold step this year, choosing to play senior rugby over U18 rugby. His decision has paid off, as he has become instrumental to the 2nd XV’s success and even earned a well-deserved call-up to the 1st XV for their victory away at Wimborne. Representing Seaford College, Chase’s rugby career looks incredibly promising.
Finally, James Tyler, another talented second-row, has been in scintillating form. His latest achievement includes crossing the try line twice in a dominant performance against Basingstoke last weekend. James’ relentless work ethic and consistency make him a player to watch.
These four players are not just the future of Petersfield RFC—they represent the bright future of rugby in Hampshire. The club is dedicated to supporting their development and looks forward to seeing them thrive as they continue their rugby journey.
