Enjoyment is one of the key values in the RFU's TREDS framework (Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship) and given that this is either the first or second year of your child's rugby journey, our emphasis will be squarely on creating a safe and fun environment from which your child can develop the habit of being active and enjoying the company of their teammates. Teaching the values of TREDS is therefore the primary development objective at this stage of your child’s rugby journey, with the skills of the game being purveyed as a by-product of the activities we organise as opposed to being the focal point of the sessions.
If you are interested to know more about TREDS, here are the definitions provided by the RFU.
